Center-based ABA

Meaningful skills for everyday life

Our center-based services help children build the skills that let them take part more fully in everyday life. Our goal is not simply to reduce behaviors, but to expand access to relationships, learning, play, and independence.

Our care is child-led, play-based, and grounded in dignity. Learning happens through a mix of structured teaching, play, movement, social interaction, snack time, and everyday routines.

  • Communication

Teaching meaningful communication that helps children express needs and preferences more clearly.

  • Social connection

Supporting interaction, shared attention, and meaningful relationships with others.

  • Emotional regulation

Helping children navigate frustration, transitions, and big feelings with more support.

  • Independence

Building everyday skills that support greater confidence in routines at home and beyond.

  • Play

Play is not a break from learning. It is how learning happens.

Individualized programs

Two levels of support

Every child is different, so we do not use a one-size-fits-all model. Together with families, we develop goals that are meaningful, practical, and responsive to each child's strengths and needs.

Comprehensive Intervention

25 to 40 hours per week

For children who benefit from structured learning across multiple areas of development, often while building foundational skills.

Communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, adaptive daily living skills, play skills, cognitive learning

Focused Intervention

10 to 25 hours per week

For children with strong foundational skills who need targeted support with a smaller number of specific goals.

Social skills, flexibility during transitions, self-advocacy, emotional regulation, behaviors that interfere with learning

Hours depend on individual needs and are recommended after a comprehensive assessment. Treatment plans are regularly reviewed and adjusted as your child grows.

Neurodiversity-affirming care

Confidence, not compliance

Our goal is not to make children appear "typical," but to help them build skills that increase independence, connection, and quality of life.

We follow your child's interests and prioritize joy, autonomy, and safety. We respect consent and bodily autonomy, avoid compliance-based or masking-focused goals, and teach skills without diminishing individuality.

Your child's team

Who works with your child

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Designs and oversees every program. Our BCBAs hold master's-level or higher degrees and review your child's progress data regularly.

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)

Provide day-to-day sessions under the close supervision of the BCBA, after structured training with guided practice and in-person coaching.

You, the parent

Parents meet with the BCBA regularly, and families take part in more comprehensive progress reviews twice each year.

Caregiver learning

Families are partners, not observers

Every family enrolled in our center-based ABA therapy receives regular structured caregiver learning designed to keep home and center aligned.

  • Foundational learning: the principles behind ABA and the "why" behind behavior.
  • Goal-focused coaching: each session stays connected to your child's goals.
  • Hands-on learning: when appropriate, caregivers join parts of sessions to practice with guidance from our team.

Insurance explained

We help you understand your benefits

Share your insurance information and we will contact your provider to verify coverage. Within a few business days, we will explain your benefits and review any potential costs such as copays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket responsibilities.

Some plans require prior authorization before ABA therapy can start. We prepare the documentation and submit the request; the insurer's review usually takes about 7 to 14 business days, and we notify you as soon as a decision is made.

Help with the diagnostic process

You may be noticing differences in communication, play, regulation, or social interaction and want clarity on next steps.

Most insurance providers require a formal autism diagnosis before approving ABA therapy. If you do not have one yet, our team offers respectful, play-based ADOS-2 assessment support that can help you understand your child's developmental profile and move forward with greater clarity.

Questions

Questions families ask

Does my child need an autism diagnosis to begin services?

Most insurance providers require a formal autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis from a qualified medical professional before approving coverage for ABA therapy. If you have concerns but do not yet have a diagnosis, our team offers the ADOS-2, a structured autism assessment that can support the broader diagnostic process.

Will my child need an assessment before starting?

Yes. Before therapy begins, we complete a comprehensive assessment: an initial conversation, a review of records and intake forms, a clinical observation with a parent interview, and a detailed report with treatment recommendations. The report is usually submitted to your insurance provider to request authorization.

How soon can my child start?

The timeline depends on insurance authorization and the intake process, but most families are able to begin services within approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

Who will design and deliver my child’s program?

Every program is designed and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Day-to-day sessions are provided by trained Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) under the close supervision of the BCBA.

How is progress shared with us?

Our team collects data during each session, and your child’s BCBA reviews it regularly. Parents meet with the BCBA regularly to review progress, and families take part in more comprehensive progress reviews twice each year.

Do you provide speech or occupational therapy?

ContextABA specializes in ABA and does not directly provide speech therapy or occupational therapy. If those services would help, we are happy to collaborate with outside providers.
